Michael Freed is a local chef, business owner, restaurant manager, and caterer. He is a proud graduate of the Culinary Institute of America — which quite literally opened the door to the White House, among countless others, for him — and has held positions as Executive Chef for American Airlines, and Catering Chef at Stanford University. He lives in Marin County, and kinda likes Humphrey Bogart.

“The warmest feeling I get is when I see people come to the door of our new San Rafael location at Bogie’s Too. It’s extremely emotional — to go from losing everything you have to the most beautiful location with the best customers imaginable. They tell me how much they loved our old restaurant, how much they’re looking forward to our re-opening, and they say “we’ll be here.” They’re all here for us. At times it’s an overwhelming feeling — the outpouring of support we’ve gotten from the community. City Council, Chamber, local businesses, like businesses, it goes to show something: we’re in this together. It’s not you against me, me against you. It’s us supporting each other. The admiration and the love that I feel from my family and my friends is remarkable. We’re so happy to be open again, so we can get back to that.”
